Blackjack!

This is a story of how I returned from Las Vegas as a loser.

Before I went to Las Vegas on a business trip last week, I borrowed 3 books from local libraries to study how to beat the house and become a winner in Blackjack, which is supposedly the only casino game that you can have an edge against the house if you stick to the winning strategy.

Several times Ikuko and I won big. However, the losing times were more frequent, and in the end we came back home with less money than we started with. Below is the breakdown of Ikuko and my wins and losses.

1/10
Amount bet: $270
Ending balance: $395
Net profit: $125

1/11
Amount bet: $350
Ending balance: $0
Net profit: -$350
Running net profit: -$225

Amount bet: $160
Ending balance: $220
Net profit: $60
Running net profit: -$165

1/12
Amount bet: $340
Ending balance: $280

Running net profit: -$225

1/13
Amount bet: $120
Ending balance: $333
Net profit: $213
Running net profit: -$12

Amount bet: $300
Ending balance: $0
Net profit: -$300
Running net profit: -$312

1/14

Ending balance: $0
Net profit: -$360
Running net profit: -$672

Amount bet: $300

We really had fun, but it would have been more fun if we ended up winners. Next time I go, I should study the Chart more....
